According to the Sabah Ministry of Tourism,Cultures and Environment tourists visiting Sabah are increasing fast in recent years,especially from the China,Hong Kong and Taiwan sector.The increase in this particular sector last year was 34.4% over the same period in the previous year.During the coming Chinese New Year in February 2008 season itself more than 5000 visitors from this sector will arrive on 22 chartred flights.
This will put a very heavy load on the hotel rooms occupancy during that period.If you are caught in a jam because of hotel rooms shortage,try the bed and breakfast or back-packers' lodging as an alternative. Bed and breakfast in Sabah
Most of the bed and brakfast lodgings in Sabah are family-run. They are friendly,simple yet comfortble, and most important, affordable. The family members of the owner will always go out of their ways to help you whenever requested, to make you feel at home. It is in their nature to do so, in fact most of us Sabahans will unhesitantly do likewise.
